About My Leg, My Choice
Our goal is to raise awareness of unnecessary leg amputations by providing education to empower patients, families and caregivers to have a voice in their choice of healthcare options available.
We are committed to reducing the number of amputations for patients who are at risk for lower leg and foot loss due to peripheral artery disease (PAD), a blockage in the arteries of the legs limiting blood flow. Many patients are referred for amputation long before all options have been exhausted. You are at risk for PAD if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, have ever smoked, or are over age 60.
